Trump caved in to the Democrats and government reopens. The new Speaker of the House has been able to put him in his place and win a huge victory.
Now that the Russian republicans have had a chance to talk to their handlers, it will be interesting to see how they spin this.

It's comments like this that make me feel that he should permanently shut it down, fire all of them after 30 days, and hire people that will work with him.

Who says he gives anything. The Dems took his state of union from him. The Dems took his government shutdown from him without a promise of a wall. His only choices are to cooperate with Dems or forget remaining as president after this term.
Declare a national emergency and he will guarantee to keep his 34 - 36% of i***ts and lose the e******n. Either way he loses.
