Member Steve Perry has just released his new book on the subject. Written for Nikon users, but including information that is universal.

It begins with the basics, what is exposure, and moves on from there. And being a photographer Steve includes lots of his photos.

Photographic Exposure is something that I learned several years ago. I have read many books on exposure but the explanations have been so complicated that those books lost me after a few pages.
Exposure is not difficult and we do not need a gray card width us at all times to meter the subject. Even without a gray card and in those days when the light is not cooperating we have a great exposure guide in the palm of our hands. "Sunny 16" works in any part of this planet.
I am sure, due to the experience that Mr. Perry has with Nikon cameras and lenses that his E-book should prove to be an excellent guide to those that already have a good photographic knowledge of the basics of photography.

Having read multiple books on exposure by multiple authors I have a basic understanding on the subject. My approach is the same as was in school, when the prof assigned "every other one" of the problems at the end of the chapter I would do all of them. Always learned as much as doing the half he did not assign as doing those he did. Another book on exposure from an experienced photographer is always welcome!

Exposure isn't hard, but people get scared of it.

Its very simple to earn to drive a stick shift car ... once one gets past the fear. Exposure is quite similar.

In our auto everything society, doing things manually scares the Beejeebuss out of some people.

One can put a camera in AUTO mode and get perfectly exposed but often blah photos.

It's much more difficult to drive a manual transmission car than using a camera in manual mode. There is no coordination skills required for the camera while for the car you know you would kill the engine several times when you first engaged the clutch. Then you also have problem put it in the gear without practice.
