I've seen video shot using rigs like that, but as someone else said, I would not risk my camera in one.

Oops, sorry about that rough landing - hope your camera didn't get hurt too badly hanging down there.
Bet you could get some neat stuff from that aerial platform.
How good are your piloting skills? Remember, you pull back to go up and push forward to go down.
Good shooting

Very cool, I have one just like in this video for sale, Schluter Champion 60...capable of lifting a video cam,... a must learn to fly first of coarse. then impress your friends. :)

I fly and crash remote control airplanes. I won't put a expensive camera in one of those.
If I had one, I'd put in a ton of hours flying it with something that had the same weight as my camera. You'll learn about winds, cross winds, ground effects, and how to use the controls until they are second nature to you. It's not as easy as it looks.

Real estate / commercial property photography. Wedding/concert photography. I can think of a lot of uses for a set up like this.

Your right, it's not easy to fly, took me about 240/260 hours to build/re -machine parts to run true, then flew dual control for weeks with qualified instructor, then finally did my solo flight and lo and behold, some A#$ H#%#, turned on his radio (same Frequency) and my Heli ended up flying into a backstop. Rebuilt it, and off we went...with no other incidences. (both real, fixed wing and RC choppers).

Not sure about flying RC doing what you mention, but is one of many reasons (Real Estate aerial) I learned to fly real high wing aircraft...
