This looks like it might be Charleston, SC. If it is, it is a very successful capture of White Point Park in the Battery. I have it in color, but your shot is very effective in B&W.

It would be more effective if you store original when displaying a photo and requesting feedback. Your view of the Live oaks would be a joy to see in a larger size, in more detail.

How to "store original" is mentioned here:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/help/how_to_post_a_picture.jsp

It makes a download of your photo available, rather than requiring us to view the 600-pixel wide version that UHH posts as "thumbnail."

From what I can see, this is a fascinating study of a jumble of shadows and light.

Welcome, Bruce! Be sure to check "all sections" at the bottom of this page. UHH is much more than Gallery

You have a very good eye. That is Battery Park in Charleston SC, summer of 2017 during a family vacation. It was blazing hot after a walk in direct sun. Everyone stopped for the shade and I saw this beautiful dappled light, incredible trees and a woman carrying a child walking through it.

There was a little PS done to remove a large black trash can to the left of the lamp post.

How to "store original" is mentioned her... (show quote)

Thanks. I missed that step but I haven't missed the rest of UHH. I've been reading at this point.

I think I like the black and white better. Straight view west-nothwest through the park probably taken from the sea wall. I have always liked that point of view. Did you shoot some of the houses that are across the street from the park? Every time I am there, I feel like the fox that fell into the chicken coop.

I like the B&W better too. Some of the colors are distracting to me.

I saw the houses....mansions....next to the park but didn't get any pictures. On a vacation, it's hard to balance taking pictures, things the rest of the family want to do and just "being there". Often taking pictures takes more time than looking and moving on to the next thing and others don't always want to wait. Sometimes....not always.

I bet this would look interesting with more of an in infrared conversion. Might show off the tree limbs more. Welcome. Looks like you just joined!
