Nope, not in a funk, nope not too busy...but rather recovering from a serious illness. I’ve barely had the energy to surf the UHH, let alone go out shooting.
I came down with flu like symptoms on the evening of January 3 and tried to deal with the high fever and severe chills on my own for 4 days. With no end in sight and dehydration setting in, I opted to head to urgent care. When urgent care ruled out the flu and other things, the only other thing they had noticed is that I had a trace amount of blood in my urine. So, they fast tracked over to the ER for more tests.
Thinking that perhaps kidney stones (history of those in the past) might be the root of my problems the ER did a series of blood cultures got me on a IV drip to get me hydrated again, and called for a CT of my kidneys to see what was going on. The CT showed that I have stones, but none of them were causing any blockages.
It turned out a few hours later, the blood cultures popped positive for some sort of infection. Time to be admitted to the hospital until they can figure out what the infection is and where it came from. Six days later, and after a battery of tests including a transesophageal echo (tee) and MRI and who knows how many blood draws, it turns out I had a Staph infection in my blood.
They’re still not sure where the infection came from, but I have a Picc line installed in my right arm and I get the pleasure of doing 3 times a day IV antibiotic infusions. I get to continue this treatment through the first week in February.
So, I’m pretty much home bound (out on medical leave) until then with getting better being top of mind. I’ll just be glad that when I do get back to shooting I’ll be able to go light with some of the ultra small primes thay m4/3 has to offer.
Glad they finally found the cause of your illness. Wish you a full and speedy recovery!!

Treat yourself to the em1x. Anyone in your situation deserves to purchase one. I guarantee that you will recuperate much faster.
Hope you recover soon and well.
My wife had a similar infection last year that put her in the hospital for five days--never found the source of the infection. Scary.

I wonder if I can get the doc to prescribe one. That way I can deduct it from my HSA.

It truly was pretty scary. Had I tried to tough it out another day, I likely wouldn’t be here.

My days of being tough are over. I am pretty vocal when I feel something wrong.
Take care.
Good luck and on a speedy recovery.
Hang in and get better! My wife had one of those mystery things hit in Hawaii - it really scares you.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I hate kidney stones. They cost me my dream career!
Get well.
And FWIW, a variation of M4/3 is the Panasonic LX100. It's small, light, lots of fun and capable.
Prayers and good wishes to you. The best part is that you seem to be on your way to recovering. Keep on doing that part.
