I have been experimenting with the use of NIX HDR, which has been applied moderately (I think) to each of these images. Do they work, are they "over cooked", what would you change. All comments considered.

I think the PP works well on all these photos. Makes the images more interesting.

I think they are all attractive, but some appear more realistic than others, notably the critters vs the landscape/city scenes.

That said, they are not over-baked imo...just styled to your preferences.

I am so uninformed that I don't even know what NIX HDR is. Can some enlighten me please.

Thanks. Which do you feel appear more realistic?

The bird shots. They are richly colored, but lack that dreamy water color essence apparent in the others.

By the way, you have a very good sense of composition, which also makes these photos pleasing.

Thanks. I teach a course on Composition in photography, so I guess it comes through.

It certainly does. Perhaps I will take your course.

You will have to join OLLI course at Stony Brook University. I do not know if I will be teaching the course again.

Nicely composed and not overcooked, so they look just fine to me.

Those are all spectacular photos - at any level of processing. Masterful composition indeed.

The only ones that I would personally prefer dialed down a little bit are the WTC, the mailbox, and the street scene in Split. Either overall or selective reductions in saturation would be my preference, but that's just me.

I really enjoyed looking at these.

Andy
