I have five large trees, heavy snow worries me......
Hearing a CRACK is always foreboding. I've seen my 20+ foot cedars bent over to 10 feet.
Oh, I am worried! I have several 100ft. + trees in my yard and I am even nervous in clear weather when the wind blows.

“They” say: if you’re around trees and here a loud crack, run! Doesn’t matter which way, just run!

Great pictures... it is eerie when you are out and hear the limbs break off...
I was out on my deck putting gas in the generator (power went out in the afternoon) around midnight when everything was quiet and talk about eerie... You could hear limbs snapping from a mile away.

Nice action shot, all that wet snow can do wonders for a change in the landscape.

I agree with the crowd, the first is the best. Another case of being in the right place at the right time.
It was so weird, I was shooting single shot but the breaking action was taking so long that I was able to snap off a couple of shots.

Wow Tom! Excellent captures. Stay safe!
Thanks, Sylvia! Trying to stay safe, We just had that second snow event and it ended up not amounting to much, but very cold temps (-100c) followed : )

Great Pictures... Great Timing! But I just got to know... the mystery is... when a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Did this tree know you were across the street, thus was forced to make a sound as it broke? Still a mystery!
I think you pegged it. Just HOW did the treee know that I was standing there? Hmmm...
