Nice shot, Sylvia--hope the old guy hangs in there.

Pleased you enjoyed Ted, thank you very much for your kind comments John. Unfortunately he has kidney failure so we have not arranged any long haul holidays over this winter. Although the vet gave him six months and that was a year ago!!

Sylvia, that's a beautiful photo of Ted. It is very much like the drawing that has been in my family for probably 100 years and currently hangs over my bed. I don't know who did it.

So pleased you like it Kathy, thank you very much for your lovely comments, I always appreciate you looking in. What a nice picture to have over your bed.

I really enjoyed the photo and narrative of your cat. I had always been a cat hater until years ago when my ex said we needed a couple of cats due to house mice in a ranch house we had bought. She brought home two new kittens, brother and sister, that a local vet was planning to put down. The male was identical to yours and the female was black. They were so tiny we had to bottle feed them from a child's toy set. They both lived until about 18 years old. The male was all male, strutting around the house while the female was all girl, walking prissy like. Both liked being petted but only when they wanted it. But both would be found in bed with us, along with two big dogs, on cold winter Colorado mornings. The male would sometimes go totally under the covers to keep warm. I ended up loving both of those cats as they slowly wormed their way into my heart.

Your photo is excellent and goes along well with your great narrative. It brings back great memories as my two cats have been gone for years now.

Dennis
I really enjoyed the photo and narrative of your c... (show quote)

Enjoyed reading your lovely story very much Dennis hope you had a very large bed! My husband can relate to your story too. He never liked cats but we moved into the country many years ago surrounded by fields and farms, we suddenly ended up with 11 cats all at once, some wild others tame! They soon converted him. After the last one was put to sleep due to ill health we never had another cat for a number of years.

Then Ted arrived all teeth and claws. After a year spent taming him he moved in and has been such a delight.
I am involved in trapping feral cats on farms, testing and neutering them. Then they go back to the farm. Also I bottle feed kittens, it really tugs at the heart strings when it is time to rehome them to forever loving homes.

Pleased the post brought back happy memories for you and thank you very much for your kind comments, I do appreciate them.

Exactly what Stephan G was thinking. You got this so right in many ways. In case anyone was wondering, look up Google "Chessie System".

Thank you very much Mister H for your kind comments and thumbsup so pleased you enjoyed old Ted. He was a mature wild cat when he turned up in the garden, after a year he became tame and moved inside the house. Lovely to see what he would look like as a young kitty, probably just the same as Chessie!
