Get a whole house generator and then you could just sit back nice and cumfy and not have to worry about your freezer turning to mush or freezing your buns off.

Hope you had a nice wood stove to keep you warm! (Or a gas stove or heater.)

Nice shots Tom hope things turn around for you and you stay warm. Looks like we could end up with over 10 inches this weekend.

Interesting that you said that, Jerry. It is relatively quiet. My wife and I went out looking for one that is a little more powerful, but they were all snatched up by the time we decided to buy one. I do have an older one , but it simply would not start. This came from my stepson whom has power.

The generators themselves are relatively cheap. The problem being in piping for gas and the re-wiring of the electric. That is very expensive. But yeah, I would love to have one!

It may as well be total electric. No; we have gas for cooking, bathing and heating. The problem being is that we remodeled with all new appliances abut 10 years ago. Back then my little generator did just fine. The furnace and the stove are now electronically controlled for the pilots. Even with direct hook up, they would not work. The furnace; no way. As for the stove, we can light the burners fortunately, however, since the controls for the oven are digital with no manual lighting, we could get the panel to light up but nothing else. Of course the water heater needs no power.
