Massive government employee layoffs are possible after 30 days of shutdown

We are now on day 26, I believe. After 30 days of furlough government employees become subject to RIFs, Reduction In Force. A fancy word for "layoff."
I understand the OBM is preparing procedures for massive RIFs to occur after day 30. There are issues with the type of furlough but all the employees currently on furlough will be in a precarious position next week.
I know Trump has always wanted to reduce the bloated government bureaucracy, it's possible ma Pelosi and the Dims are going to enable him to reach that goal.
The neat thing is that government employees are by and large, Dims. Especially the ones in DC. This is going to be fun to watch.
