Its not surprising to see that some of you have a strong preference for one over the other. #2 is the kind of composition that I almost always work towards and is more second nature for me. More of a straight out abstract. #1 is much more experimental for me. A textural overlay retaining some of the original imagery. I find your responses very interesting and I appreciate hearing your reactions. Thank you all!

I really like both. Each has an M. C. Escher-like feel that makes the viewer work a bit to see what's going on. Great job!

An interesting reference to Escher. I was enchanted with his work as a youngster.

I really enjoyed these. Abstract reflections fascinate me. I find such beauty in them.

one of the images I used on the first one is a black and white conversion turned into a negative and flipped upside down. A pond that frozen over hard, got snowed on, then rained on. The thin layer of water on the ice gave nice reflections of the trees. Made the little snow dunes. Its pretty abstract even before I started doing anything to it.

Almost looks like you took shot while sitting on the pond bottom. Just cool!
