Profit and greed have different meanings. Greed is why we are the only developed country without comprehensive medical coverage.

I agree and it's one of the "deadly sins"- "P***e" would be right there too with it!

I get headlines from the Washington Post every day. If I wanted to subscribe, I could read the whole paper, but the headlines are depressing enough. Take a look at today, for example.

"China's military is moving faster than the US is adjusting"

"Government standoff jeopardizes air safety"

"Federal offices my suffer brain drain - lack of job security"

"Walmart drops CVS coverage"

Try to refrain from blaming all of this on one political party. This will probably be sent to the Attic fast enough. I believe that greed is behind most of the problems in the USA today.

Thus, you refuse to be informed in any way?

The sad part is that sources of information are being bought up and destroyed so that we have lesser knowledge of what is going on around us.

For me, I do not pay attention to what leaning a paper (news source) may have as long as I can garner a truer picture of global events that are affecting my immediate future. I work to read as many sources I can. And I do know what I am looking at.

Excuse me for interrupting. Please put your blinders back on.

Greed? Greed is good, its what drives innovation, motivates people to create, the ability to make a profit. Its when corruption, government, excess enter the picture

Like the dog-eat-dog Capitalism of today?

Greed does not drive, motivate, etc. Greed causes monopolies. Do some research first before making generalities that do not reflect reality. Greed, like the mythical "godliness", brings out the worst in many.

Greed is that corruption and excess that you bandy about so loosely above.

Interestingly, NPR is the most trusted news reporting.

Guess the term 'Greed' doesn't connotate anything positive....Not saying Excessive Greed is good, quite the contrary, but it or another form is inherent in all of us (hopefully).....Instead of Greed think about using the term 'Appetite'. Greed (an Appetite) works. Greed (an Appetite) clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed (an Appetite), in all of its forms; Greed (an Appetite) for life, for money, for love, knowledge has always marked the upward surge of human activity....guess some just have bigger appetites than others like Gates, Branson, Jobs, Edison, Di Vinci, Rockefeller, Carnegie Salk.....Call it what you want but there's an enormous appetite, craving, ravenous, voracity for innovation, profit, security and prosperity....Everything in Moderation, isn't that what they say about all diets? Anyway, ya'll have a fantastic day and 'feed your appetite'...😊😉.

Depressing headlines (sensationalism) sell. Feel good stories do not. It's all about selling newspapers...

For the right, every newspaper is l*****t. Strange that most are owned by right wing owners? Who is being played?

"Definition of greed. : a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (such as money) than is needed motivated by naked ambition and greed."

I tend to side with the denotative when it comes to meanings. The connotative is to free-wheeling and loose.

You have fun too.
