A Travel Tripod Deal Today

"Travel tripods" are certainly a collection of compromises.

My morning email offered the (normally $120) MeFoto RoadTrip Air Travel Tripod for $40. One day only!

The color choices appear to be a fashion statement, but the price compelled me to buy a red one to keep in our RV for my small and lightweight "travel" cameras, including a "tough" Olympus TG-5. It is red too! Even if the tripod falls over, the camera might survive!

Red travel camera on a red tripod! Nobody will ever think I'm a photographer that knows anything.

I got one "free" from Adorama when I bought my Nikon 200mm to 500mm. It's a cool little tripod, I can see all kinds of uses for it. But it's not going to replace my Slik heavy tripod.

That's quite a deal! I've been looking for one that will easily fit into my briefcase or smaller bag for carryon use. I wonder how accurate the 13 pound rating is?

In any event, I suppose at this price it is worth a shot. If I like it, I suppose I'll have to buy a black one at the original price!

Andy,

I looked. The black and titanium remain at the $120 price. Apparently pink and blue don't sell too well!

Funny. I just came here to let folks know too. Just finished ordering mine in green for the same reason you picked red.

Quite a bargain IMO. Just the thing for my LUMIX LX 100 (fixed zoom lens and less than one pound).

First thing I checked as well. I went for the blue one. I am desperate for a compact tripod, and I think I can live with its limitations. Thanks for sharing the email - it didn't make it past my SPAM filter this morning.

Is there a link? When I go to the site, I don’t see them at the sale price.

Only the brightly colored ones are on sale. You should be able to go to the normal B&H website and search for "MeFoto RoadTrip Air Travel Tripod". If that doesn't work, try this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1281655-REG/mefoto_rtairred_roadtrip_air_travel_tripod.html

As I post this at 4:15 pm west coast time, there is a little less than five hours remaining in the one day sale.

We may be confused for brothers! I have a LX 100 too! I like small cameras and feel that because they are unobtrusive, I get better images in a lot of cases.

Thank you! I got myself a purple one. It’ll match my hair.

Good idea! I guess I’ll have to give my blue one to my wife and get the full price titanium grey for me!

Thanks for the heads up. This is a tripod I can take out on my bicycle rides.
