I can only speak for my own camera, but I can say I've looked for a simpler, quicker and less distracting way than using M+AutoISO and I haven't been able to find it. And that from a camera that has only one adjustment wheel.
And did I mention that it gives you TOTAL control over the exposure, and if you include EC it gives you control over the exposure level as well? Who cares if it's classified as manual or not?
