Wounds that cannot heal...
Our past American bi-partisanship cooperation.
The loyal opposition.
The American spirit.
These key aspects of our society are broken and judging by the the antipathies expressed here in the Attic, I think they will not heal in our lifetimes. And, it has become far more polarized by trump’s lack of leadership and lack of integrity.

I don't think you have much room to talk when it comes to civility, why mention antipathies when you are guulty of such violation? just look at your own posts as well as all your anti-Trumper buddies.

Babylon will always need a crisis to keep his people geed up to fever pitch and quarantined from the rest of us.
The first time I heard "You Liberals" and "I want my country back" was one year into Obama's time. That was an unpleasant relative and well before Trump landed. I haven't spoken with him since. I'm guessing he got job at a Russian troll farm.

Or a Republican think tank. Is that an oxymoron?

You’re right, I have responded in kind. I see the bigger picture after some self-reflection. I became polarized just like you, in fact some credit is due to you for that.
I see my bias and see how it has affected me. How do you see yourself? As the wounded innocent or a key contributor to continued anger.
How does this on-going bulls*** end? Or does it? My guess is “not in our lifetime”, it’s gone too far for forgiveness. The best I personally can try to do is avoid it but it’s damned hard to turn the cheek when the fist is being withheld.
So, we have wounds that can’t heal. What is your plan to MAGA? More asperity?

I agree with some of what you said. The difference is I believe it is polarized by a f**e lying media and ignorant people who believe ANYTHING they read. The media reports HYPOTHETICAL "what if" "possibly" or "Maybe" situations and calls it "real news." Just watch how many times those words are used by the f**e media, in print and on TV.

I agreed until the last sentence.
The D’s have picked the fight since at least Goldwater.
Trump, for all his faults, is the first R since Reagan who had the backbone to stand up to the party of s******n.

It’s a polarization that started long ago and was entrenched by the r****t, identity-politik, d******e policies of the Obama administration. Yes, Trump oft adds to it, but we had already jumped into the abyss.

The umpteenth time I heard “you conservatives” and “we want our country back” was after the 2000 e******n when the progressives couldn’t believe they didn’t steal the e******n.

I would encompass the Congress' lack of leadership and integrity too.
Agree with your post. Nowadays each side calls the other t*****r and un-American. How did we get so polarized? We are countrymen not enemies and the divide only seems to be getting worse.
Look at some of the replies on this topic. Nonsense. I'm waiting for the guy that says all lefties are evil.
Social media and the internet don't help. People can say wh**ever they want and post f**e news with no repercussions. So many news sites have popped up with a tabloid writing style designed to inflame not report. How do we hold these people accountable?

The lying f**e media does not hold itself accountable. What chance does the public have? None.
