Watery eyes after cataract surgery?

It's been over a year since my cataract surgery on both eyes and they continuously water daily to the point of running down like tears. I have to carry tissue all the time. Anyone else experience this? Guess I need to make an appointment with the doctor to see what the problem is. Never had this problem before the surgeries and shouldn't have waited this long but kept thinking it would improve.

Your eyes are leaking. Apparently the slits have never healed shut. One of my eyes leaked after glaucoma surgery and the doctor had to go back and add some sutures.

Dry eyes. Over-the-counter things likely won't help. My physician prescribed for me "Refresh Tears" (carboxymethycellulose NA 0.5%)
The tears are composed of 3 components - one to wash, one to lubricate and one to delay evaporation. If one component diminishes the others make up the quantity of the solution lost - which cannot do the job. That additional quantity is the overload that runs down your face.

In other words - the recipe calls for 1/3 olive oil, 1/3 water and 1/3 lemon juice. If you run out of one, making up what was lost by an additional quantity of either of the others will not fix the recipe and that additional quantity will not mix and it runs off.

What???!! Why would you ask anyone here about a health problem?? That makes no sense.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense. We all need clear vision for our efforts in photography. If you cannot see clearly you cannot perceive the image you want to capture. Show a little understanding, dude!

I, too, experience watery eyes since I had cateract surgery, but only when I read for a while. I plan to return to the surgeon to see what can be done. I woukd suggest you do the same.

Good luck.

I already indicated i'll be going to the doctor. Guess you've never asked anyone about their experiences about anything. Don't be difficult.... I'm not substituting laymen comments for medical advice. Guess you just like to be critical. Enjoy your day with that attitude.

Are you kidding? The Hog is replete with experts on every subject waiting eagerly to give advice.
Many of us are old, and have years of life experiences to share and direct.

Your perception of what "makes a lot of sense" makes no sense.

And what Medical School did you graduate from?? I am also "old" but smart enough to keep my mouth shut about giving medical advice. Wait a minute perhaps you are just being facetious?

I am not being difficult. I did not realize you are so fragile. Why would you even open your mouth about your problem if as you say you are planning to revisit your doctor?
