Statistically, who benefits when businesses hire illegal residents? The hiring agency, presumably a 'rich' person or group and the illegal resident.

Statistically, who is harmed? A legal resident who CANNOT accept the job at a rate of pay below minimum wage. Again, with the majority of these jobs being available to unsk**led laborers of both types, it ends up being some of the poorest Americans who lose opportunity to these low sk**led imports.

The biggest and best boost to the unsk**led poor American is to remove barriers to their access to decent pay, and decent opportunity. The biggest source of competition for this access is NOT rich white guys. It's other unsk**led poor, and especially those that can work for lower pay.

Also, education and sk**l levels are, bay far, the biggest obstacles to the vast majority of able bodied young people. My number one priority, then, to benefit both the American poor and the tax payers that too often support the unemployed American poor, is to eliminate the competition faced by the American poor. Deport illegal residents who commit a crime as minor as shoplifting and institute E-Verify requirements nationwide with HUGE fines for entities hiring i*****l w****rs.

Give that policy 2 years and evaluate the numbers of dependent American poor and also evaluate the number of illegal border crossing apprehensions. You'll see the American poor are far more independent and that that the illegal problem greatly diminished.

I have the same question about Obama and his having 2 years to affect some policy change in the immigration arena..... he waited 7 years and acted only with executive fiat / orders.

These two occasions indicate that BOTH parties have something to gain from the broken system.
