Warning: Politically-Incorrect fetish nude for book cover

Was shot for possible cover use on anthology of fetish stories. Never got used. Bad styling: jewelry is inappropriate, and client didn't like tattoos. The 'explicit' area would have been covered up with graphics or cover text. The girl's cuffs were some sort of aluminium allow.

I wasn't too disappointed that shot wasn't used: all told it was a weak shot and the styling errors reminded me to 'sweat the details' in the future.

A good lesson in what-not-to-do. I find the pose very awkward to figure out, so it immediately distracts from the main point of the image. A good instructional post.

I remember a slide show at a seminar by a top NYC fashion shooter. She showed a series of sllides from a test shoot and commented, "just wasn't a strong concept ... but it's good to try different stuff."

I'm of the opinion that there's more right with this image than wrong, but what do I know. Am I correct that the red was photoshopped in? The edges between the body and the background look a tad strange.

Thank you. Yes, the red was PS'd in. And I'm still learning stuff like making good edges when you're changing background, separating out the subject etc. (It gets much trickier when you have frizzy hair or fur clothing to deal with.

I agree that there is more right with it than wrong as an image - the main one being the "cut-out" work. Other than that, it may not have suited a clients taste, but not at all a bad shot - nice composition, good lighting, good model.

A very good photo. Your PS'd work is fine, too.
