Film SLR Repair help

Hi

I have a Minolta Maxxum 400si with a badly scratched translucent screen which sits above the mirror.
It has a textured finish and believe it is plastic.
It's a shame because it was a decent auto-focus that I've had since new and have some nice AF lenses for it.
Checking on EBAY, I know they aren't worth a great deal anymore but if it is fixable and not very expensive, I'd probably do it.
Otherwise I might just look for another body.
Any suggestions on where to send it for repair would help, or maybe what kind of body might make a decent replacement.
Many thanks
Bill

You might call C.R.I.S. In Chandler, AZ. Phoenix area. They’ve helped me. They will tell you over the phone if the have or can get the part you need. Credit to Bob Malarz. He’s the one who told me of them.

Nope I am too obsessive to ignore the scratch even if it doesn't affect the images.

I think I found a place to get it repaired and cleaned for $50 plus shipping.
Worth the $50 to me anyway.
Mailed it off this morning.
Not sure if I can give the name here or not, but will let you know how I make out.

I also put a EBAY bid on 2 Minolta Maxxum 7000's with a couple of lenses.
Great AF film cameras!
Supposed to be in nice working condition.
At $5.00 (plus shipping) for everything, I can't go wrong!
I've bought several used lenses on Ebay and always did well.

Ok quick update, if you care, raise your hands ...I sent my Minolta Maxxum 400si off for repair and cleaning. They are supposed to replace the scratched translucent focus screen too. I am waiting to see how that works out. The estimate was $50.00 so I figured I's give it a shot. If they do a good job, I'll post the repair Co. name here.
Meanwhile back at the ranch, I found a nice looking Minolta Maxxum 800si on Ebay and snagged it for $30.00. From what I've researched the used 800si retails somewhat more than that.
These are not particularly high value cameras anymore but I've enjoyed the 400si and have several good Minolta AF lenses and the 800si is a newer, stepped up model from the 400si, so for the price, I don't think I'll get hurt. If they both work well, I won't have to switch lenses and film as much depending on what I am shooting. I still always have my Olympus manual film too.
Those lenses should work on sightly older Sony digital AF cameras that use the Minolta/Sony A mounts.
So I am watching for a Sony digital too. I need to move to digital a bit more and learn but don't want to break the bank either. (instead I'll nickle and dime myself to death...lol)

Yea, I am obsessive...

If someone wants the 800si let me know. I want to sell it cheap. Perhaps the $50 the OP spent to fix the 400

Wish I had asked first now, I'd bought yours instead of risking Ebay.
I'll keep it mind in case either of the others don't work out, the repair or purchase.
