The last three are really nice portraits. I've never yet been able to score a hawk.
Thank you very much, Sue. To be honest with you, like most unplanned
photography, it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time.
I was able to get within 10 feet of this beauty without spooking it, which
really surprised me. And, may 10 minutes after that last image, the
hawk was up in a telephone pole, and shortly thereafter, took off
for the unknowns.

A few months ago I had an opportunity to attend a photo day at the New Mexico Wildlife Center. Here are some of their animal ambassadors:
Pg. 12 - What a wonderful opportunity, Kat, and you made
very, very good use of your time. Excellent images!

those are wonderful shots--
Thank you, Kat. The first couple aren't technically the best
composed images, but I think they help tell the story of
this bird protecting its catch.

Here are 3 more of Florida nesting birds.
Pg. 13 - Roxie, all three of these images are absolutely gorgeous.
It's funny...we go to Florida almost every year, and other than a wildlife park,
I've never been able to capture the variety you've captured. Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen one displayed like that; was his one
wing injured?

On nice days I like to sit on my deck with my Sigma 120-400 on my D7100 waiting for shots like these first three.
Pg. 13 - Wonderful images of a wonderful variety of birds, Dennis.
Well done.
I'd love to see a Puffin in person...they are so fascinating.

What a wonderful start Kat. This challenge is undoubtedly going to be a favorite for UHH members. I know it's one of my ultimate favorite subjects. I have more than a few photo's to share from around where I live.
So, I'll start with my water birds first.
Pg. 13 - Wonderful series, Johnna. I love them all, but your treatment
of #1 I really like. At first glance, I was drawn to the symmetry of the
outstretched wings, but then I noticed there were two more geese!
Again, great job.

Please tell me someone went back and cut down the fishing gear in that last image...
