All from the same walk! You hit the jackpot. Thank you.
I went for the wigeons and occassional wood duck, which I noticed on a walk a couple of days before without my camera. The kingfisher was the biggest pleasant surprise. I’ve been trying to get one of them for years but they are very active. This guy sat there across the creek allowing as many images as I wanted.
The hooded merganser was another surprise. I hadn’t seen one before and didn’t know what it was till I got home and consulted a bird book. Unfortunately he was in dark shadow and stayed mostly behind overhanging brush so I ended up with ISO 4000 on him. I was pleasantly surprised at how it came out with that high an ISO but had I realized it at the time would have backed off on the shutter speed and used min fstop to get a lower ISO.
