Sony raw file conversion error

Looking for some help with Sony raw file conversion. I am using Sony A7iii and capturing both raw and fine JPEG images. To post-process the raw images in Lightroom, I had to download Adobe's DNG converter as LR does not recognize Sony's raw format. In the past I was able to convert them, but all of my latest photos when I tried to use Adobe's DNG converter I get an error message indicating that it could not parse the file. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If you did, can you please suggest how to overcome this issue. Otherwise I may have to call Adobe. Thanks.

What version of LR are you using? Adobe's list (https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html) shows you need version 7.3 or above for your cfamera.

Latest version of LR Classic CC as I am running on Windows 7 64-bit. I just updated my LR but still LR indicates there is no preview available for these images.

I only capture raw images in my A7iii, and they always convert to DNG in Lightroom.
This suggests to me that there is not a generic problem, and you should call Adobe
I have always found them very helpful
Good luck!

Have you downloaded and used Sony's PlayMemories software to convert your Raw files before taking them into Lightroom?

You may find it more accurately with the correct name.

So, has PlayMemories been discontinued as a download from Sony's website and been replaced by the stuff you referenced? I haven't shot much in the last year and things do change but in that regard, I don't recall any notifications regarding such a change? I could check with Sony but it sounds like you're on top of this one.

You asked me and I am not certain but I think that the product referenced in the article, the one I use, replaced an earlier, crappy version. Play Memories Home is a different application. The one referenced in the article is this:
https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/app/imagingedge/en/download/
To clarify, the new product is a suite of 3 apps.
But..
https://www.sony.com/image-editing-video-production-software includes the stuff in my screen capture.

I have a Sony RX10 IV and it uses Sony's ARW (RAW) format. I have the latest updates of LR Classic and Photoshop CC 2019. LR and Photoshop have no issues uploading my files. If you open Creative Cloud, click on the three dots (upper right), Click on help, scroll to the bottom you'll find and option for Contact. That will lead you to a Chat for support.
Good luck,
Mark

Thank you sir. I'll give what you're using a shot. I think I'm about ready to get back out shooting more often and PlayMemories just doesn't seem like grown-up software somehow.
