My first attempt to "stack" star shots to make star trails. This is 70 fifteen second exposures stacked to make trails.
Star Trails
What is the bright spot on the right?
Maybe crop it out?

Admittedly I picked a bad night to shoot the stars, but was more interested in the overall exercise of "stacking". The bright spot is the moon.
Thanks for the comment.
I like this picture, are those perseid meteors near the pole star? I missed them this year..Doug

Thanks for the comment. there is a meteor in the lower left quadrant. The upper left is a plane.
Good job. I didn't get myself, live in the city and to many lights, so I really enjoy seeing your. Thanks for sharing.
Cool. Looks like a universal tornado.

The best visibility was during the night from August 12 to the 13th but during the night you will be able to see these falling stars until August 23. You didn't miss the Perseid meteors.

Great job in stacking!
Very nicely done dstallin!
O.k... Question! :-) Do you need a special program for stacking? I just read a book from the library with several pictures of flowers taken with stacking - up to 8 and wondered how it is done. I have Elements 9...can I do it in levels? The picture here IS NOT mine it is by Peter Adams...just a sample of what I would like to learn. Any suggestions are appreciated.
You can focus stack in Elements 10 using the photomerge group shot technique.
