A Texas Madrone. These trees recover after fire in a way that is very odd. The new tree growth basically envelops the old burned tree. I nicknamed it "cyborg growth" and the effect, especially when the colors are deepened by rain, is striking. This shot is nothing more than documentation, but I still marvel at this phenomenon.
