I just received the new Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens that I bought mainly for wildlife. I decided to take it out to the local parks in the area and give it a try before I do any fine tuning on the focus with the Tap In system that came with it. These photos are hand held using the Canon 6D Mark ii on a cloudy day. Only post processing is with windows 10 photo program.

Thank you, the women here are nice to look at, unfortantly there wasn't much actual wildlife in such a busy park.

How can you tell that they’re not wild at that distance? Perhaps try again when the weather gets warmer!

IMO kind of stalker images since only the first shot seems aware you are even shooting her. Most would assume they are having a private moment at a park with no event, not winding up on UHH.

Actually they all were aware there photo was taken and even were shown the photo. I'm in no way a stalker or an ass if they want their photo deleted then I was happy to do so. Washington state law is in fact that your allowed to photograph anyone in public however like I said. I'm no ass or stalker.

Please be aware I in NO WAY was stating anything negative about YOU but simply the IMAGES of the 8 women based on information presented. But, maybe mention "permission given" if posting individual shooting in this type of setting, regardless of WA laws. Had I known that I would have complimented you on a couple of the photos, especially the last.

I do believe that the Supreme Court has deemed it legal in the entire country.

But, I like the way you did it, and you got some very nice pictures!

Image 1) 150mm f5 1/128 sec is a bit soft
Image 2) 300mm f6.4 1/400 sec nice and sharp
Image 3) 150mm f5 1/64 sec soft
Image 4) 600mm f6.4 1/64 soft
Image 5) 250mm f5.66 1/64 sec
Image 6) Cry foul - nifty fifty lens 50mm at f1.8 and is sharp
Image 7) 600mm f6.3 1/64 a bit soft

Sharpness is in the eyes of the beholder but wildlife / birding shots need to be as sharp as you can make them. Hard to tell if the lens needs tuning because only images 1) and 2) were taken at a reasonable shutter speed for the focal length. My guess is you will need to tune at 150mm.

Have the 150-600mm G2 and am very pleased with it, but it took quite a bit of tuning.

At first I thought the OP was posting this. Now I'm a bit confused. Are you telling the OP what he shot at in case he didn't know????

Just plain curious. I spent $1200 for a lens I was not very happy with and struggled for 3 months to make it work. Was bouncing back and forth between returning it and struggling with it. Ended up sending it back to Tamron with my camera body and it was still soft when it came back. I was curious to see if his out of the box experience was better than mine given the time difference, so carefully looked at his results with birding in mind. I shared my observations. Looks like the OP will have a bit more testing to do before he knows how much tuning will be necessary. Here are my tuning values for 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600mm on a D7200
at 2.2m -1, +1, -11, -5, -3, +11
at 30m 0, 0, 0, -5, 0, +20
at inf 0, 0, +2, +5, +5, +15
Would be interested to see what others have come up with. BTW, tuning at inf is a bit tricky. Hopefully my observations and experience will help others who purchase this glass.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully the OP will get his setup without too much problem.

What is the tap in system and how do you fine tune your lens? I have one and want to do this. Thanks.
