What makes this a winner for me are all the contrasts:

- sharp foreground subjects and soft distant hills
- yellow green and gray blue
- rigid vertical lines and meandering horizontals, including the clouds.

IMO a fantastic example of creating interest and mood by embracing the natural hazy distance.

Very well done! I agree with Linda's comments and would like to add; That's pretty much how it really looks there folks! I believe the mountain peak in the left distance is kitt Peak National Observatory.
As I once lived just a few miles northwest of there and saw similar views every day, thank you for the trip down memory lane.
