Red-tailed Hawks seldom kill prey larger than Cotton-tailed Rabbits. Barred Owls general eat nothing larger than mice size prey. How many pictures have been posted on UHH of Red-tailed Hawks and Barred Owls. Would have to take a poll but none of them reported an attack in their comments.

I believe You have taken this article completely wrong. I do not think it is telling Me that every time I see one of these birds I am in danger of becoming a meal. I think it is giving information that is true to an extent and when You are in the vicinity of these creatures it is a good idea to use some common sense. You might want to consider improving Your research methods.
