I finally got my computer back from the shop. I don't know if I will be able to catch up on all the posts that I missed. A belated Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.
Glad you are up and running. Thanks for sharing the great shots.
The reflection in #2 is beautiful!!
Nice return to posting again in the Hogg. Touch to be without your computer.

Looks great with fog in 1 and the reflection in 2.
Thank you all for your kind words. It is good to be back.
These are both gorgeous, though I'm drawn more to the moody fog shot. Particularly because those stark forms stimulate my brain to think about what they resemble and to write matching stories
Also, I always love when the fog hides the distant view as we wander in.
Check the color space on #2. Note how different your thumbnail sky is. You may have
"Embedded color profile: “(unrecognized embedded color profile 'ProPhoto RGB').” Just set to straight sRGB for web.
I like both of them. Great reflections in the second photo, but I find the muted tones in the first shot really appealing. As Linda says, the fog adds mood and the partially hidden forms add an element of mystery to the picture. Excellent compositions!
Hi Linda,
Thank you for looking and especially for your suggestion. That difference has always bothered me. The photo is about 12 years old and was taken with an even older camera. I tried to change the color space, but what I did made no difference. It is obvious to me that I need more instruction on how to handle color space.
I always appreciate your thoughts and how you express your ideas for me and others. You have a real talent for inspiring others to try to achieve your own high standards. Thanks again!

Thank you GreyOwl. It was a fun time to be in arches. I woke up to about three inches of snow on my tent, and fog for the next few days.
Hard to beat fog and snow in red rock country! I really enjoy the reflection shot too. I wonder what you and others would think about cropping out the sky on top entirely? When I look at it that way i can focus more on the water and reflection. Just a thought.

I agree with Linda about the cropping of the sky . Other than that you have two really great images. Keep it up.
