Canon's mirrorless strategy?

I just read an interesting article re: Canon to focus on RF lenses exclusively in 2019 & not release any new EF lenses until after this year. If accurate, it sounds like they are finally getting serious about mirrorless. The person being interviewed seemed to suggest that they aren't abandoning the EF line, just switching focus for the upcoming year:

Maybe they will actually build a decent FF Mirrorless, the R is a plastic toy camera.

Maybe they will build a small sensor camera (m43 ish) to compete with Olympus and give mirrorless weight savings
