No place like NY, but thirty years was enough. Now I can enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. But I do miss the opportunity for street photography.

It is often used in English without any very specific meaning, as in It’s raining. In How’s it hanging? it refers to life in general."

Just couldn't resist taking this with my cellphone on my way to the bank. This friendly fella was playing Christmas tunes on his flute and immediately switched to playing Hava Negillah when he saw me coming, all while hanging upside down from a tree on 34th St. between 8th and 9th avenues. I was moved to leave him a $1 just for his marketing skills.

Midtown Manhattan - The Street Photographers wonderland. Never a dull moment.

Happy New Year to all.

Growing up in The South Bronx, the late '40s and 50's "how's it hanging" was a colloquialism that referred to, "the boys". Other places probably have different meanings.

Unless a person has been living in a rent controlled apartment for the last fifty years, you have to have A LOT of money to live comfortably in NYC now. And with the subways falling apart it's getting harder and harder to be comfortable.

That’s why we left 22 years ago and the snow. Cary NC is brand new, affordable, easy, and there are more New Yorkers here then North Carolinians. But you don’t ever forget the 4 story walk up railroad apartments, the neighborhoods and the people of N.Y. I will be up soon as the weather passes I will stop in and say hello

Shalom
