Hipstamatic - Thoughts, Tips & Tricks

I did a search and found no results for hipstamatic. I am just curious if anyone here is using it and, if so, your thoughts, tips & tricks. I understand it has limitations and it is not a real camera, but it is on my phone which goes pretty much everywhere I go, unlike my regular cameras. Also, I have seen at least 1 pro shooter who has published a book using this app. I have just started playing around with this app. I am interested in y’all’s thoughts.

Shutterbug, you must have been looking in the dresser, medicine cabinet, or that closet you said you would cleanout in 2019.
I and my friend Mr. Google found te following.. among pages of other articles:

" Hipstamatic is a stylish iPhone camera app for creating unique images with a retro or vintage look. It has a great selection of analog film, lens and flash effects which allow you to easily turn an ordinary scene into something far more interesting, beautiful or dramatic."
https://iphonephotographyschool.com/hipstamatic/

Now that is great and the resulting photo examples are marv-mod... but I have a gripe !.... The Price !!!! "You can purchase additional ‘HipstaPaks’, which usually shouldn’t cost you more than $0.99 a pop. HipstaPaks will have at least one film and lens, but some also come with flashes, and camera cases if you want to jazz up your app a bit. The app itself will cost you $1.99, although it’s occasionally available on sale for $0.99. " It is unfair that to do work on our computer with actural JPEG or RAW from an expensive camera costs $99-$199....that is 100 time the price of Hipstamatic... unfair.... totally.

But you didn't understand the primary question:

"I am just curious if anyone here is using it ..."

Musta had your head stuck in that dresser drawer.

It seems that there are an infinite number of photo apps for both cameras and phones. I wonder how much difference there is between them and how many will sell enough to survive.

Well, if you read your post it says, "I did a search and found no results for hipstamatic." So that was a beginning point... I gave you results. Sorry if you confused you.

My search was on UHH. I should have been more specific.

I have never used "Hipstamatic". So, skip this post if you are only looking to use the "Hipstamatic" app. I have NO knowledge of that particular app.
- On my phone, I have and use "Retro Camera" (shoots square format) and "CameraMX" in which I can choose a format (I mainly shoot square with my phone camera, but not always). Each of these Apps has many features to play with.
They both work very well on my G4 Moto phone as a shortcut to fun/creative images of the phone camera level.

It was popular back in the late 2000s. I had it for awhile, but it got pretty gimmicky. I deleted it a few years ago.
