the first and third were actually taken at our church. They have flower patch that attracts many butterflies. The second was at our home.

They really are great memories for me also, and looking at your poor battered black swallowtail in the second image reminded me of some in a similar condition which we had last fall. The black swallowtails would float along slowly over the blooming lantana and butterfly bushes in our perennial garden and the ruby-throated hummingbird would fly out and sometimes take a plug out of its wings because it considered the garden its territory.
