A couple more from "Valley of the Gods" Utah. Having fun going through photos from a trip this past January. BTW, no PP'ing on these photos other than sharpening and cropping...colors are straight out of the camera.

I sure do love #1, the way the road is so prominent in foreground, then dips out of view, then reappears and winds back, back, back.

btw, I very badly want to get into a discussion about how straight from camera colors can lie as easily as those from a pp'd image, but I've put on my mittens so I can't type any more 🤫

I'm with you on out of camera colors, especially for jpegs, which these were. I usually have the camera set for "standard" color but these may have been on "vivid" setting. Exif doesn't give me that info, but I was surprised by the deep reds in these photos and that is why I made that comment. However, colors in this area do tend toward the deep reds.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Linda, and all the best in 2019. And, for Gods sake, if you party tonight get a designated driver!!

P.S. Almost forgot, I cropped this photo with the road starting from the right hand corner and then to run diagonally up through the photo to get the effect you describe.
