Can anyone give me the data on a Lumix DMC G85 with a 100-300 lens? It is lighter than my Canon 70D with 150-600mm which is starting to get heavy. My Canon 70D I've had since 2014 and I really do enjoy it. I will really appreciate some advice, especially if someone has one and have used it for a while.
I have both the GX85 and G9 after a lifetime with Nikon and a few years with Sony mirrorless. Panasonic cameras/lens are the best light weight system I've found...excellent cameras and the lenses are superb! The G9 is the best stills camera I've owned and is a great video camera as well. The GX85 is the best "feature rich" camera on the market for its size and price...an amazing little package.

Comments deserve two thumbs up.
I started with the G85, and was very impressed with its features. Many ratings have pegged it as one of the very best mirrorless values out there, and I would agree.
Me being me though, I knew I had to step up to the flagship G9, and did so a few months ago.
Back to the Lumix 100-300 vII lens...I recently purchased this lens and the attached photo was taken with it the other day, with my G9.
This may not be the best representation of the lens' capabilities, but I am well-impressed so far.
A 200-600mm equivalent in a lens this weight and size?? I would never have thought it possible, having been a Nikon user starting with the Nikkormat FT2 many years ago.
Thanks to each of you! It helps a lot to understand the Lumix G85. It just has so many features–on the outside–compared to my Canon.

I'm an ex-Nikon and Canon user (1968 to 2012!)
The Lumix gear has a great feel-in-hand. Buttons and dials are there for all the right functions, and they're mostly in the right places. Yet the menu system is great, too. It's extensive, yet better organized than Nikon or Canon, and a LOT better organized than Sony or Olympus.
Panasonic has been great about releasing NEW FEATURES in your existing cameras, through firmware updates. My GH4 is on Firmware Version 2.7 (The camera was released with version 1.0.0). They've added lots of goodies and fixed a few bugs. The same goes for the lenses... Some of them were updated about a year ago to allow use of the Dual IS and Dual IS II features.
