Do you see the spider ?

I was trying to take the picture of the spider lower flower and this big creature showed up. taken by Nikon d700 and 70-180 macro nikon lens f4-5.6 at f 22 and macro flashsb-21

I see the spider. Better is the hummingbird moth. I can tell you were after the spider because the moth is not sharp. These little guys move almost identical to the hummingbird and feed much the same as well. I love watching them almost as much as the avian.

Your spider appears to be a flower crab spider (Misumena vatia). This specie can alter it's color from white to deep yellow, depending on the flower color. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misumena_vatia

Merci, thanks all. as a dentist I use my D-700 mostly in the clinic but on that day i took it out to the garden and my bolex monopod an antique one plus chinaski head did the job well.I post some more photos soon but 40 degrees centigrade about 100 f is hot enough .

Great shot. I like spider photos but I really like the way the flash caught the moth's left eye.

Moth? There's a moth in there too! I'm still squinting at the tiny spider! :roll:
