Excuses, excuses.

So of course, attempt to twist & turn your error back onto someone else.

What a hypocrite...

No excuses, did it once, and that was the end of it for me.

Go back to the attic. Please don’t waste your time in main forum.

Well, when you're wrong, you're wrong - - so what do you do ???

Ahh yes, try to push back with snark !!!

Of course this is Main and I have every right to comment here - - and am doing so simply in response to you and where you posted.

Before you raked up all your shyte in relation to your opinion of zoos, did you stop and think that you were in Main ???

Well no - - you went right ahead and rained on tommy2's parade about photographing captive animals.

Grow up and stop telling adults where to post.

Please don’t forget that I also have certain rights. Just like you.

Ps: when did you grow up? With almost all of your post residing in the Attic, I must wonder.

Happy new year to you

My own personal bias but I hate to see animals that are meant to run free kept in captivity in too small, dirty areas with everyone gawking at them. I hate zoos!

I suppose you are referring to shots like this at the LA Zoo recently. I have wondered what this guy is thinking as he gives me the evil eye.

Yes, but captivity is the only way certain species can survive, and breeding programs are the only alternative to elimination as a species.

Some of my political comments were originally posted in GCC, but admin moved them to the Attic - - all right, if that's the way it is.

But this train of thought it's not political and, as I said, is in response to where you posted in Main, so why don't you stop twisting and turning and stabbing and snarking.

You're not the only one with opinions...

I agree with you almost 100%..but....in some cases the zoo is the only chance for survival for some species. I think a great step forward would be to ban trophy hunting and execute all poachers.

I agree with executing poachers. Licensed hunts, however, in many places pay for conservation efforts and are the reason certain animals still exist at all.

Very well stated sir, WHILE you are enjoying FREEDOM to do as you please.

Now may I suggest that you try living behind bars and see how you like it?

As opposed to being extinct. I’ll grant you both suck, bit one sucks less.

I guess if we want to play god, you are correct.

Of course most animals don’t suffer from being wiped out.

I simply responded to some of the replies to Suntouched’s original post.

I challenge any of you to supply yourself or a loved one to any zoo of your choice. If you are so unaware that you can’t understand that these being don’t want to be in captivity, than there is not much hope for you guys and girls. We are the worst animal of them all. We are selfish and destroying this planet.

The Fort Worth Zoo, Dallas Zoo, Cameron Park Zoo (Waco), Fossil Rim Wildlife Reserve, Houston Zoo, San Antonio Zoo, Abilene Zoo, Victoria Zoo, Gladys Park Zoo, Tyler Zoo and the Austin Rescue Zoo are real jewels in Texas. They all strive to provide good habitats, living environments, quality food and superior medical care to their animals. People that disclaim or dislike zoos are working with little to no knowledge of what zoos really provide in the day and time. If it wasn't for the efforts of the zoos many of the species would never again be seen on earth. The white tigers are extinct in the wild and only 400 are maintained in the zoo shelters. The snow leopard will soon be extinct if hunting persists as with many other species. The zoos I mentioned and many others place the welfare of the animals above the entertainment of the general public. The Bronx Zoo in New York does extensive research as does the San Diego Zoo. If you know of something a zoo does that might harm or put a zoo animal in danger all you need to do is file a complaint with the FDA. The biggest difference in making images in zoos versus Africa is the cost of transportation and the expense of a guide. They put you in a 4 by 4 and drive you close to the lions, gorillas, elephants or other exotics. By the way, it's a show and tourist adventure. How do you think they keep the animals close to the vehicle routes? They plant food of course and sometime the food is live and staked out. If you are anti-zoo, I suggest that you get involved and discover the facts. The zoos are great photo adventures and not near as easy as you might think. I do photography in zoos across the United States, some more often than others, and I find it challenging and rewarding. $10 is a small fee to pay for a photo shoot at the Fort Worth Zoo. Have a wonderful time. It's one of my personal favorites. The Rooster image is a personal favorite of a bird who chooses to live at the Austin Rescue Zoo and kind of rules-the roost so to speak.
