I'm thinking of changing things up a bit. Is there a site or link that has listings of Canon, Nikon, etc showing strengths vs weakness; ways in which one model is better than another?

My interests are mostly in street photography, event coverage, music coverage (clubs or concert venues), the night sky, slow exposures.

Hi oldogfoto: That's a pretty tall order. I think where I would start is a search engine search. Google, Yahoo, etc. Type in Canon vs Nikon or Nikon vs Canon and see what results you get. Be interesting to hear about what you find.

Here are four web sites for you to look at. Each has its own advantages allowing you to search out different things.

What you are asking is not a five minute thing, it is going to require you spend some time and learn quite a bit about what each camera is capable of doing.

Have fun. Be prepared to spend time and learn. The last site will allow you to compare individual features of individual camera models.

Highly recommend dpreview for comparing the technical specs on various models. For lens technical info, (not a side-by-side review) I use slrgear.com. IMO there is no better technical analysis of lenses. Caveat is that it is not comprehensive.

You might check out http://www.steves-digicams.com/

I use Steves, and dpreview. You can also "google" camera reviews or just type in Google your question.

You certainly have a lot of answers here. Just do us a favor. When you find out which is the best brand, please keep it to yourself. Otherwise, you would ruin it for the other half. :D
