In June my wife and I are on a trip from Sydney to Calgary, Banff, Vancouver via Rocky Mountaineer, then on an Insibe Passage Cruise then home. Have a Canon 5D MK lV and several Canon, Sigma and Tamron lenses. The question is which lenses to take? Rather than say which lenses I have would rather hear which ones I should have with me. If I don’t own them I can rent them. Thanks for your input.

Canon has a nice wide angle with IS (image stabilizer) 10-18mm. I would also take something with some reach like a 300mm zoom and I'd take a Nifty 50mm.
I have these and they would be well worth your while on your trip.

I would take what I'm taking to Europe this coming May ---- 24mm 1.4; 35mm 1.4; 85mm 1.8 & the 100-400 with the1.4 iii extender

I would consider a Tamron 28-300mm, a 35 or 50mm prime, and a wide angle--maybe a 15mm Rokinon.

With that Canon body I would use Canon 'L' lens. I would start with the
24-105mm f/4 'L'. If you don't have this one rent it.

From my kit, I would take:

12-24 f/4
24-70 f/2.8
80-200 f/2.8
1.4 tc
And I might throw in a 35 f/2.0 for street

If I did not have a 80-200 or 70-200, I would rent a 70-300.

16-35MM FOR WIDE ANGLE, 100-400 for distance, maybe 24-105 as a backup.

Wow.

More info please.

I don't know if the two of you are 18 YO Olympic athletes or 88 YO retirees or have any idea what you want to shoot.

That being said, something along the lines of a 70-200 f4, 28-70 f4, and 20ish mm and 50 f1.8 jacket pocket lens will cover most anything without being backbreaking. If both of you are photogs and carry 2 DSLR's between you.

With a 5D mkiv, which I have, I’d just take a Canon 24-70 f/4 and a Canon 100-400 mkII. For a little bit more include the 1.4 mkiii extender. Forget taking a 70-200 f/4 or f/2.8 not worth it. I’ve been to Greenland twice and never missed leaving my 70-200 at home.

11-24mm, 24-105mm, 100-400mm MII, 100mm Macro w/IS, FF Fisheye and your TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II.
These are the lenses you should take with you.

With all that Canon Crap you will have to limit your lenses. My suggestion would be a wide zoom in the range of 14-35 mm on your full frame, chose a lite one, and my second lens would be a zoom with a range around 24-200 mm.
But, IMHO, I would chuck all that Canon Crap and take a small Sony pocket camera like the Sony HX90V that has a zoom range of 24-750 mm. and has a pop up viewfinder and flash.
Folks tend to take too much crap with them when they go on vacation. TRAVEL RIGHT, TRAVEL LITE.

I have a 24-105 on my 5Dmk4 most of the time. My Sony A6000 has an 18-135 for about the same focal length , so if I were only taking one lens, that would be it. Beyond that I would throw in a 70-200 with 2x converter.

In your car you don't carry all on your back.
Now if it were Nikon/Sony it all would be crap definitely.

If you would please read the whole post before you bone out you may see that I have made a suggestion on what to take. And it really does not matter weather it is Canon Crap, or Nikon Crap, or Sony Crap, large camera's with lots of lenses on a vacation is CRAP. And you should avoid taking CRAP on a vacation. THAT WAS MY SUGGESTION. My suggestion for you, get a life.
