Epson V850 vs V600

I hear a lot of positive comments on the V600 photo scanner. Anyone have experience with the V850. Is the quality worth the extra cost?

I have the V750, the predecessor to the improved (I would think) V850, and have always been very pleased with the excellent results it gives. The only criticism of the V750 would be that the negative/transparency holders are a bit on the flimsy side, worth checking to see if they might have been improved on the V850. I can't however help with a comparison with the V600.

I have both in my store and the V600 is my workhorse. I only use the V850 for scanning large format negatives of 4x5 or larger. Both give excellent professional results.

Best to do a comparison of features. I have the 850 and always use it intro mode. Love it, never had a problem but from what I've read the quality isn't any different. Sometimes if you go to another program or back to the desktop sometimes the scan will hold and then it will continueuntil you click on the scan window again. Others have mentioned this as well.

i recently read an article, which I don't have handy, that the neg holders are better on the 800 series. The writer said he bought the set of 800 holders to use on his 700 scanner. He claims they hold the negative strips flatter than the old ones did.
