I just saw an ad for 275 Lightroom presets. What would anyone ever do with 275 presets?

Make a bigger bonfire than they could with only, say, a hundred and fifty Lightroom presets?

Because somewhere amongst them there must be one that saves me the time and effort to create exactly what I want despite all the time and effort it takes to find that β€œone”.

They’re for that guy who takes 2000 shots on a day's outing. 😜😜

That was basically my thought, too.

it's the three that you would actually use that are of value. I think a lot of these suppliers throw in a lot of filler as shoppers will often be swayed by the "more is better" argument. I sometimes will end up with more that I want because I'll purchase a package to get one I saw reviewed or upon recommendation, eventually I end up deleting a lot to get rid of clutter.

Am I the only one who after creating something with a combination of settings, or after tweaking a ready made preset, forgets to save the results as a new preset?

More is better?????

How could anyone even come up with 250 presets that were sufficiently different from each other to warrant its own preset?

They'd select their favorite 5 and delete the rest?

I think it is best to simply put aside an afternoon or two and learn how to make one's own presets, rather than repeatedly buying/collecting other people's presets.

You'd play with them once, and then never see them again. You'd look back at your checkbook a year or so later and say, I'll never get that $49 back.

You forgot to add something "You'd play with them once..." after forgetting to load them for three months and then not wanting to bother with them because you wanted to process the photos you just shot right away but you really, really DID plan to try them out after the next shoot, when you had time, but you never did so it was a year after you bought them and finally found the time to try them out.... OR binge watch GOT so you watched GOT because you felt like a slacker even though all your friends stopped talking about GOT months ago... then you decided that 275 presets just looked too messy, so you decided to organize them... as soon as you got the time and then the new upgrade to LR came out and some of the new stuff looked really cool and then you looked at your presets and thought "Where did these all come from????"
