Very funny both the manual and your comments. I have seen the same information in other manuals as well.

It's like the silicone drying packets that are included in new cameras and other equipment when they are shipped. We are cautioned "not to eat" the contents of the packet. Well, despite them surely looking quite tasty, I'm not sure how many folks would look at the packet and go, "Thanks, Canon, for including a snack with my new lens!" Here's your sign... ;-)

Never would have guessed! This was in the Nikon Z7 Users guide. And I thought I knew a little about photography. Guess not. Glad I got this, now I know. Can’t wait to get to the QTip and ear section.

“Friggin’ lawyers gonna take over the world,” as my sister (a judge and attorney) would say.

That’s hilarious. So Japanese and legalese at the same time. The “nanny state” isn’t just American.

I’ve read so many bad camera manuals translated by ESL Japanese, I can *almost* write it myself. My parents hosted a Japanese exchange student when I was in high school. She was embarrassed to read my Nikkormat manual. She called it Jenglish. (She became an NBC News translator in Tokyo. It paid better than translating manuals. )

Nikon is just covering their behind. There will always be at least one moron and 2 idiots out there that will actually do exactly what Nikon warns about. And you can bet your D5 or Z7 that they will try to sue!

I think you can get a $300 guard that attaches to the eyepiece so you don't stab your eye while adjusting.

Delkin Devices probably sells a knock-off for $14.95...

It must have happened once with some Nikon camera or other, and the idiot sued Nikon. So now the legal department has covered Nikon's rear aperture for them.

My doctor said she has a habit of reading labels. One item she keeps on her desk just for something to make her and her patients smile is a little is a bag of Planters peanuts. It's not candy or anything like that, just roasted peanuts. It even has pictures on the label.

On the label on the back: Warning - this package contains peanuts.

....and then there was the guy who wondered how 'Preparation H' would take on a cracker.....guess the "For External Use Only" was not clear enough. Common sense has been lost

I have to admit that years ago while on the way back from a hiking trip, we stayed overnight at a motel. I woke up sort of half asleep and pulled out of my shaving bag what I thought was my travel size tube of toothpaste. ---- You guessed it, in my half awake state and bleary eyed, I pulled out the tube of Preparation H and started brushing my teeth with it. I don't recommend it - ha ha. My wife and grandson laughed to much they almost cried and I am reminded to this day.

The peanuts that the airlines hand out also often contain the “May contain peanuts” warning. Got one just last month in a flight.
