Cedar Creek Lake is a man made lake as are most of the lakes in Texas and was completed in 1965. It is 18 miles long and 2.5 miles wide with many small inlets and coves. I have been boating, fishing and swimming in this lake most of my life. I swear the one that got away had to have been a lake record. I am not a morning person but over the Christmas holidays I finally did get up early enough to catch the sunrise at the spot where I lost him. I have also included some other shots of some of my favorite spots around the lake. I hope you enjoy them.
Nice pics and I like the first one best due to the mood and colors. As a fellow bass fisher as to your story: Yeah, Sure!!!
And as a fellow photographer, you HAFTA get over that not a morning person thing!!!
There is simply to much gold out there to be had at that time.
A series to be proud of, and surely will encourage you to set that alarm early again someday soon?
#2 is a particular standout for me: the contrasts of nature against hand of man, and sharp - but delicate - vertical lines against the heavy mass of concrete curves and pilings.
#3 is so charming with the heron and single cormorant buddy (thief?). The massive bare tree is a great anchor for the composition.
In both those, and of course #1, the golden light adds so much - not just in color, but shadow definition.

Very nice work, Kenie!
#1 is my very favorite. Perfect combination of timing and use of slow shutter speed.

Bruce I do occasionally manage to drag myself out of my warm bed to go out early. Fish and great morning light wait for no one.
Thanks for commenting.

Linda we may not have the grand vistas or mountains here to photograph but there is a different type beauty here, in the right light. I think the birds are my favorite shot. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Thanks Andy. It was nice to be able to take my time and shoot several different exposures. I wish all my shoots were like this one. Only 9 more years till retirement and I can take all the time I need.

Thank you sir. I appreciate having a place to be able to share and learn.
Nice set but #1 is definitely my fave for composition, colors, light.
