Getting good images of Sandhill Cranes is frustrating as they are usually too distant in the fields or too high when they fly over. Yesterday they were very low when they flew over.
The sun was very bright and behind me, and really accented the red of their heads. There was no color adjustment in case you are wondering.

Beautiful shots. I usually have more lens flare than birds in my images. I've shot a few times on the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge on the Tennessee River near Dayton where the Sandhills congregate in the thousands every winter. But you're right. They are usually too far away or too high so the more amazing are your shots.
Thanks.
