Winter Grass - Variations

I had many great suggestions for my previous Winter Grass post. While I am happy with the processing of that shot I wanted to do a post of variations, incorporating some of the suggestions to other shots that I took of the grass in that location, including an abstract I created by inverting the original. Please feel free to download and rework any of them that you would like. As always your comments are always appreciated.

#2 is my favorite also. For me it's the black background and tall aspect, along with being able to see the white puffs so clearly. #1 is fun, almost like flying insects. The vignette of #3 is effective in the way that vignettes should be, keeping our eye within the frame while not overpowering the subject.

I do not think any are anywhere as good as the original. Furthermore, these are even more out of focus and I prefer subjects such as these to be share. Out of focus has it place but it is not here.

Thanks Linda. I may have to go back this weekend and work them some more. I was paying more attention the light and I think my composition suffered. If I could just get me feeble brain to do it all....together.

I can appreciate that and I appreciate you commenting. I can't grow if I live in a vacuum.

Thank you for accepting my criticism in the spirit I intended and you are right about growing. I believe that most photographers eventually develop their own artistic style. For instance, some people prefer color while others prefer black and white. Likewise for sharpness, cropping, contrast and who knows what else. The same will be true for you too. Good luck and keep growing.
