I have been planning and saving for the big day. It happened yesterday. I visited my local photo retailer and got the new EOS-R and several lenses and tripod. A couple of lenses were out of stock and had to be ordered. So also was the control adapter to accommodate my other lenses. I plan to try it out tonight shooting Christmas lights. I will post a few pics. It feels so good in my hand. I just wish I could drive to really try it out.

Have lots of fun with your new camera and you really don’t have to drive to find ‘something ‘ to aim it at.

Very few things in the world as as much fun as a brand new camera and lenses - I'm sure you'll enjoy them. Merry Christmas.

My Christmas present to myself is a D7100 and a 70-300 AF-P VR zoom, and even though it is an older body & used lens, I know just how you feel; Enjoy that new EOS kit, Merry Christmas and keep on shooting!!!

Although being a Nikon system user, I can’t help but to admit that I’ve got my eye on that EOS R as my entry camera into the mirrorless realm. I too will be “planning and saving for the big day” as well. I’m happy for you, so enjoy your new camera!

Congrats! Santa must have you on his Good list.

Mine to myself will be on its way tomorrow, presuming it's not sold out - Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer. I've got a few projects in mind for it.

Excellent gift.
It should keep you busy with experimenting all the great things it can do especially with the control adapter and EF lenses being enhanced.
