Slightly out of focus. Bird would not sit still, and there is almost no depth of field. Taken with a Nikon 5100 using f/13.8 90mm telescope as lens. What kind of bird is it?
Location? Perhaps a Scarlet Tanager.
Might be a Summer Tanager

Ed, it appears you may have captured a summer tanager. They are fairly common in your part of the world. Looks to be a young male. No depth of field using f/13.8? Neat trick.
I vote for Scarlet Tanager based on what appears to be dark wings. Could also be a Flame-colored Tanager. Depends where it was photographed.
I really wish those who post wildlife pictures would note the location where photographed. It would help with identification in some cases. The Flame-colored might be seen in southern TX and I noticed that you are from TX. Scarlet Tanager would be more likely.
Thanks to you all for your answers. My location is central Texas, photo taken last Spring.
Summer Tanager. The scarlet tanager has black wings.
This looks like a Ruddy Woodcreeper Ed. They are indigenous to the Gulf coast of Mexico. This little guy may have slipped across the border unnoticed. I think his call roughly translates to: "No Stinkin' Wall can keep me out". The identity is good, but the translation is mine.
wrong shaped bill for the ruddy
I am new to the forum, but the red bird looks like a summer tanager to me, also.

Thanks for the correction Birdman. With a screenname like that, you should know.
SpyderJan: Thanks for your ID. Regarding that wall, I agree with you 100%.
To all who helped me with that bird: It seemed red on the wings and back also. Thank you!
