Let me be PERFECTLY CLEAR. There are NO exceptions, weasel clauses, means testing, or ethics testing in the words of Jesus. If you think there are, then you need to read your Bible again.

Many people who claim to be Christians make excuses for the US Government allowing a SEVEN YEAR OLD GIRL TO DIE a slow and painful death from dehydration and exhaustion because her father was trying to bring her to a safe place to live. If you claim to be a Christian and you've decided that if this man didn't want his daughter to die he shouldn't have brought her with him then you are not following Christ. If you claim there is ANY excuse for the mistreatment of ANYONE then you are providing false prophecy.

Take a look at Matthew 18:1-5. Jesus says children are the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Ask yourself if this means Jesus would've let this little girl die of thirst and hunger? Would Jesus take care of this child and her father? Some might argue that as an immigrant himself Jesus might even have a little empathy for this family.

You will notice in the following Bible verses that Jesus CLEARLY SAID Matthew 25:40-45 New International Version (NIV)
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, wh**ever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, wh**ever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

NOWHERE did Jesus say it was OK to let anyone die, much less a little girl who's father took her on a dangerous journey so she could have a chance at a better life.

Being a Christian means living a Christ-like life. We are to try to emulate him in every way. If you read the bible, none of what happened to that family is biblical or Christlike PERIOD! There is no such thing as "Christian lite," either you are or you are not living a Christ-like life.

We should obey the laws of the government as it says in Romans 13:1. We also need to remember that we answer to a higher authority and if there is a conflict between God's law and man's law we should obey God according to Peter in Acts 5:29. If our worldly laws did not stand to protect one of Gods' children then we Christians should. God calls to us as Christians to do what's right. Water and food for a hungry, tired, thirsty child is right. Humane treatment of all people regardless of our personal opinions is right. It's my understanding that the U.S. Military doesn't allow prisoners of war to die of hunger and thirst. Why should it be different for a 7 year old child? Why didn't someone give her a drink of water the moment they found them? Water is free in New Mexico. What happened and why aren't more of us upset about this?

Are you a Christian?

Are you familiar with this verse?

"How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye?" Luke 6:42

Everyone gets logs in their eye

Tragic that the little girl died but if YOU must place blame let's put blame where it belongs. The US did nothing wrong. Even the father says that. If YOU must cast blame it would have to be with the father as she didn't get in that bad shape suddenly just because they reached the border. But perhaps the father didn't recognize the seriousness of the condition she was in?

The bible also says "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour". Which it appears you are doing now.

I believe that the United States did not place that girl in jeopardy. The US did not deprive her of food and/or water. The US loaded her on a helicopter and rushed her to the hospital for medical treatment albeit too late.

I agree that we should place the blame where it belongs. There seems to be a situation where we disagree on whom the blame lies.

Ask yourself who placed her in peril and who sought to get medical treatment.

Christians love to bomb innocent civilians. Since WW II, the US has bombed:

China, Korea, Guatemala, Indonesia, Cuba, Belgian Congo, Dominican Republic, Peru, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Lebanon, Grenada, Libya, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Iran, Panama, Iraq, Kuwait, Somalia, Bosnia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Serbia.

Many of these more than one period.

US Motto: Do unto others.

Bomb Iran, by Vince Vance & The Valiants:

"Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb
Bomb Iran
Let's take a stand
Bomb Iran
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran

Went to a mosque, gonna throw some rocks
Tell the Ayatollah, "Gonna put you in a box!"
Bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb
Bomb Iran
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran

Ol' Uncle Sam's gettin' pretty hot
Time to turn Iran into a parking lot
Bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb
Bomb Iran
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran

Call the volunteers; call the bombadiers;
Call the financiers; better get their *** in gear
Bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb
Bomb Iran
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran
(Let's nuke 'em! Whoo!)

Call on our allies to cut off their supplies
Get our hands untied, and bring em' back alive
Bomb Iran. Bomb, bomb, bomb
Bomb Iran
Our country's got a feelin'
Really hit the ceilin', bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran

Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb

That is a cute song written by someone who saw none of it. When I came back to the world, I was spat on and called a baby k**ler. For the record, I never k**led one baby but I hugged and fed a lot. Fifty years later, I still cry for the kids who had their parents k**led by the VC and ARVN.

That was real life and not just a protest song.

Then you obviously didn't fly bombing runs over North Vietnam. Lots of babies k**led, along with parents.

In a war that was NOT fought to defend the US. It was fought to perpetuate the heritage of French colonialism. It was fought with a misunderstanding of the history of Southeast Asia.
