To get a good picture of a bee, I have a 60mm, 2.0, Tamron on a Nikon D90. Then you need to chase them for a couple of hours, and delete literally hundreds of the ones that were no good. It's not too hard getting a bee on a flower, or two bees on a flower, but a bee in flight is kind of a trick. I would like to take credit for the shutter speed on the bee in flight with a fast enough shutter speed to stop him and slow enough to get his wings fluttering to give the sense of motion. (that was just dumb luck) These are my best attempts.
1 bee
2 bees
coming in for a landing
got loads of bees from my garden, the latest batch i havent downloaded yet
Meant to say yours looking good
Great pics! Too bad that it's hard to chase one down, but one eventually will find you!

Not bad at all Larry...bottom one is just right with shutter speed...very nice.
Heck and another blurb,
There is some kind of disease affecting our Honeybees, and they don't know what it is! Better save these pics for future generations when there are NO BEES LEFT! Then, we will be in a real situation with few pollinators for our crops!

Very nice Larry. Some times I spray a little sugar water on a few flowers. That makes them stay just a little longer. But I to get to chasing them. I just hope the neighbors aren't watching. :)

The shot with the bee in flight is excellent!
love that bee in flight with the purple flowers. Glad the honey bees in your area are doing well.
