Firmware update question

I am updating firmware on my Nikon D850 the fix I was looking for was in update firmware 1.2 but I updated it to the newest update 1.3.
My question is if I updated to 1.3 does that satisfy the 1.2 update altogether?
Thank you!

Camera firmware updates include all prior updates as well as the current updates.

There was a time where the download page would tell you that you must start at a certain version first. If you didn't the camera simply wouldn't accept the newer version, so no harm was done. I haven't seen that in a while.

It was probably easier to include older versions than answer all the phone calls when something didn't go smoothly.

Just for clarification, the latest firmware update for the D850 is 1.03 not 1.3.

Good to you for asking the question. Most of the time skipping a version or two can be done in one step. However you really need to read the page to see that this is a good path. Depending on the vendor, it can sometimes be difficult to find the right information.

The previous post is usually (99.9%) correct that new versions include previous versions, but again read the page.

In the newest firmware update, what does the bloody "C" stand for [ C:Ver.1.03 ]?

Probably CAMERA, since lenses can have firmware, too.
