Economist's in all fairness are guessing. The threat of the Feds raising interest rates has a great effect.

Exactly! That's why I object to calling a recession of sorts the main reason for "warning signs."

It seems that many agree that world economies are interdependent and trade agreements, tariffs, etc, all play their part.

Only a child would cry when the market corrects like you are doing. Couldn't possibly be a market correction like the experts predicted could it. One question, The markets are still up so what are you complaining about. You cant take a drop in the market, get out, you aren't chained there. Markets are still up, and you complain.

Listen Sunshine, as soon as bone spur got in office, I got out. I'm not dumb!!!

The interesting thing about Trump and his supporters they love to tout rising stock prices and ignore or downplay falling stock prices. If you are going to take credit for a rising market, you have to take credit for a falling market, You can't have it both ways.

Trump logic:

Rising markets=Trump is a genius.
Falling markets=Not Trump's fault.

But trade agreements need to be fair. China has lowered tariffs on auto imports. The 40 percent tariff they had was extremely unfair to us. Naturally those countries want to keep screwing us, but I am glad to see Trump doing something about tariffs. Other Presidents were content to do nothing.

Trade agreement do need to be fair and there are some serious problems with our trading relationship with China. However, Trump's blunt approach will do far more harm than good. Never use a scalpel when there is a machete at hand.

It serves no purpose to selectively pick out certain factions and I am not attempting to argue the various tariff elements. My statement merely points out that many economists are not completely in agreement with their supposed benefits, but rather the harm they are creating. It appears that most of us believe that some agreements and practices need to be further examined and that the bull in a china shop (No pun intended) approach is dangerous and counter-productive.
